Rescue Those Books 2009 Challenge

Currently I have about 42 books that need some love, whether it is from me or someone else.

I've cut those numbers down to about 38-40. Not a whole not, but there are still a few I know I will never get around to reading.

I'm giving away two boxes of romance books and possibly a box of fiction over in "Random and Not So Random Acts of Kindness" forum so I can make some room on my AvA shelf for the other books that will most likely be coming through. The drawing for the romance is on Jan. 14th, and if that goes well, I will draw the other box. Fiction box is still up in the air.

There's also a small series given to me by a friend that I'd like to eventually pass along once I am done reading it. She's trying to get reviews for them since she wrote them, and I know that would help dearly.

This upcoming year is going to have a lot of Rabcks, cleaning of shelves, and finally reducing my TBR pile to one or two, instead of over 40. That is absurd considering who really has that much time to read all those books anyways?

THESE STATS CAN CHANGE AT ANY MOMENT. I could like a book when I start it, and not be able to finish it, or I could want to read a book, then take a second glance at it and change my mind. Who knows. That's what this challenge is for.

The annual library book fair is in May of 09, so I'm hoping to dimish my TBR pile quite a bit before then with some careful thinking, plotting, and honesty on books with myself.

NOTE: This list has changed about three times before the final post. A lot of back and forth from my TBR shelf and computer (which both are thankfully in my room). I have sorted through them all, and I believe these will be the stats for a while. I'm going to tackle the definite reads first, and then make final descions on the maybes afterwards. (=

Any information from anyone on any of these would be quite helpful. One has been found and returned home safely, while these three are still lost in the world. I'd like them to be found, and bring them home, but it seems after two years perhaps hope is lost. I shouldn't think that way, hence why I'm posting this.

The most recent missing is at the top of the list. The ones towards the bottom are possibly long gone by now.

2008 was very eventful in me reading books. I discovered quite a bit about what I prefer when it comes to books, instead of just grabbing whatever looks good. There were young adult, a lot of yummy fiction, some fantasy by the best guy named Terry Brooks, and a bit of romance thrown in for good luck.

End of the year 2008 BC Stats 2: Pages Read Challenge

One big part of 2008 was the "Pages Read Challenge" which I finished in August with 10k, which was my goal. I upped the goal to 15k, but only managed to get 13,015 pages by tonight. All in all, not bad, especially considering I joined the challenge a month late this year and had to reroute what I had read in January, which wasn't much. The only months I had trouble with were from October to December, because of so much going on.

First entry, woooot! I have to say this year in BC was insane. Next year will no doubt be just the same, especially considering my mountain of books needing to be read is absurd. (Total of 41!)

I've read a total of 42 books, made over 50 trades, given 20 RABCKS, and made two Wild Releases, one of which was very successful!

Yea, not bad.
